Hi there, I'm Orla

 
Positive Programmes is all about my desire to help you find a better way.  I am 53 years old and after a turning point in my life I decided to do something that didn’t just pay the bills, but would give me a meaningful sense of satisfaction and happiness.For me it’s about changing lives to be healthier and happier.  The right diet and exercise can and will do that for you.
 

For decades I worked quite happily in retail management and leadership, then when the Covid years changed the face of retailing my redundancy gave me a fantastic opportunity to change my life.

I have always been interested in Health and Fitness, Exercise and Nutrition.  Throughout my life I have been a keen runner, swimmer and cyclist competing in marathons and triathlon (right up to half Ironman!). Five years ago I discovered resistance training and gym work and loved it. It’s not punishing like running can be, it’s time for you where you really know you are improving your body and your mind and leaves you feeling strong and powerful and who doesn’t want that?
 
I have spent the last year training and educating as a Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach and Hypnotherapist, and it’s been fantastic!  Leading and coaching was always part of my life and who I am so to be able to combine this with my love of exercise and the ability to help others is a dream come true.

I also had my own studio built in my garden as I decided for the first time to work for myself.
 
I am here to help you find the motivation that you possess, to make the changes you desperately want to make, but feel unable to progress on your own.

And because I truly love positivity I'm also priviledged to be a part time wedding registar ... meaning if you are looking at this website to lose weight for your wedding I could marry you too!!

I also help out with the local foodbank which is incredibly rewarding and a fantastic way to meet new amazing people in my area.

Who I work with

My clients are mostly with ladies on a one-to-one face-to-face basis, but I also see couples [this can work really well] and friends. I only take a small no of clients at a time as I develop personal programmes which are always individual and client led.
Maybe you ve gained weight slowly but surely over the decades, over lockdown, after having children, or if menopause is your issue I can help you.
If you feel like you ve been on a diet your whole life and nothing works for you long term let me show you how.
I offer a variety of programmes based on your preference which can be personal training, coaching and hypnotherapy or whichever combination you feel most comfortable with. For eg you may want to start with hypnotherapy or coaching with a view to pick up personal training a little further down the line once you have made some positive changes.

I am so excited about your new business and I speak from personal experience when I say: Orla you are a truly inspirational person - you made me believe that I could do things that I never in a million years thought I was capable of. You are so positive, relatable, honest and break down barriers that we (and other people) put up that stop us even trying to reach our goals. You gave me the confidence to enter a marathon (I’ve since gone on to run 10 marathons) and complete a half iron man (even though I thought I was a terrible swimmer). I am so proud of myself - I was rubbish at sport at school but at the age of 47 I ran a sub 3 hrs 30 mins marathon! A chance meeting with Orla and her family on holiday was the catalyst to take me to such exciting places - I think you saw the spark in me and just encouraged me to ‘go for it’. She is one of those people that’s by your side for the journey, understands the challenges you face, but wills you to succeed. Thank you Orla for setting me on a new and great path all those years ago - I hope you inspire lots of other people just like you inspired me!!! Best of luck with your venture! I am very proud of you
